From October 30th to 31st, the Middle East’s largest maternity, baby, and toddler event infused the capital with a dose of baby fever, bringing together hundreds of leading brands and parenting professionals
Unfortunately, there isn’t exactly a handbook for raising a child. Parenting books and unsolicited, sometimes questionable, advice from your own parents will only get you so far, and nothing quite prepares you for the rollercoaster that is parenthood. It’s easy to get lost in all the madness of baby names, strange pregnancy cravings, sleepless nights with a newborn, and fumbling through a pile of bolts and instructions that make building a crib feel like solving a puzzle.
However, the moment you hold your little bundle of joy in your arms for the first time, everything becomes a lot clearer. It’s when, even in your exhausted, sleep-deprived state, you realise that you will do absolutely anything for this adorable tiny human. That sense of wanting to give them the very best is exactly what inspired The Baby Expo Riyadh, creating a space to bring parents everything they need at their fingertips, along with the reassurance, support, and gadgets that make the journey a little easier.

The Arrival of Baby Expo Riyadh
After months of anticipation, The Baby Expo finally made its Saudi debut, delivering two days of discovery and connection at The Arena Riyadh. Throughout the weekend, the event welcomed over 10,000 mums, dads, and parents-to-be to explore 7,000 sqm of baby wear, maternity products, toys, and the latest bits and bobs. Guests also had the chance to attend expert-led workshops and discussions with parenting professionals, because let’s face it, new parents need all the help they can get!
Following the success of its Dubai editions, the arrival of the first Baby Expo Riyadh couldn’t have come at a better time. The need for accessible, trusted parenting resources has never been greater, with nearly 1,550 little ones born every day in the Kingdom. In fact, the Saudi population now sits at a whopping 37 million, with the median age falling around 29.6 years old, meaning a large portion of residents are either already planning for their first bundle of joy or raising a young family.

Expert Guidance
Like we said, baby books and advice from fellow parents can be helpful, but you want the very best for your baby. Therefore, The Baby Expo Riyadh provided all the expert guidance you could ever need straight from the horse’s mouth. Over the weekend, The Main Stage, powered by Aveeno Baby and Johnson’s Baby, held back-to-back sessions with expert speakers, hands-on workshops, and even talks with Saudi Arabia’s top parenting influencers.
Guests learned all the tips and tricks from leading hospitals and clinics, on topics such as caring for your newborn, life-saving first aid, sleep training, childbirth, nutrition, and prenatal and postnatal support. After each workshop, the professionals were on hand to speak with guests and answer all their burning questions.

Of course, the expo wasn’t limited to just expecting or first-time parents. To keep tots and toddlers happy throughout, The Baby Expo Riyadh featured an exciting lineup of activities and entertainment, including interactive stage shows and appearances from adorable mascots. Youngsters could also let off steam at the colourful soft play area and get stuck into hands-on fun at dedicated booths.
All the Essentials
Before The Baby Expo even announced its first gathering in the Kingdom, it commissioned a survey in collaboration with Censuswide for a deep dive into the minds of Saudi parents. The research found that on average, mums and dads are spending around SAR 60,261 on products, equipment, and services during their child’s first year. It also highlighted a clear preference for brands with a presence in Saudi Arabia, with 67% saying they are more likely to choose brands that appear at local events.
It’s no surprise that among parents and parents-to-be, safety and reputation came out on top as the most important factors when choosing a brand for their kids. What’s more, 70% of all respondents highlighted that they valued cultural alignment.
Meeting the demand for trusted, high-quality products, the event showcased an impressive selection of items like strollers and cribs, clothing, maternity essentials, toys, smart gadgets, and more. Guests could also visit the Baby Outlet, offering up to 90% off designer names, exclusive show-only discounts, plenty of complimentary goodies, and brands not typically available in the Kingdom.
Giving parents the chance to try before they buy, guests could also take the latest models for a spin at the Stroller Testing Track. Designed to mimic different terrain, the setup helped families compare comfort, safety, and ease of use.

As the saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child. The first Baby Expo Riyadh became that village, connecting a whole community of mums, dads, and parents-to-be and providing them with the support network they need.
