Grab a birthday hat and a slice of cake as we take you through our 15-year journey, recent client wins, fresh beginnings, and make a wish for many more successful years to come
In between attending client meetings, fine-tuning strategies, and publishing press releases, September encourages us to take a moment to celebrate another year of Katch. We’ve certainly come a long way in the past 15 years, originally starting out at a small two-person desk in London to now having a 51-member team spanning London, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai. The past 12 months alone have been a whirlwind of milestone events, standout campaigns, and headline coverage, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what the next year has in store for us.
So, before we blow out the candles, join us as we take you through our journey so far.
The Story of Katch
It all started in 2010 in London with our Founder and Managing Director, Georgina Woollams, and a vision rooted in creativity, innovation, and collaboration. The name Katch itself is a heartfelt tribute to Georgie’s late sister Catherine, reflecting our enduring family values that continue to drive us today.
One year and thousands of cups of tea later, Georgie took Katch International overseas, opening our first PR office in Dubai. Since then, we have set down strong roots in the GCC region, witnessing every fleeting trend and milestone shift with each one further sharpening our skills and deepening our connection to the place we now call our second home. As an experiential PR agency, our scope of work has expanded exponentially over the years to meet industry demands, now offering our clients branding, social media, design, and event planning, all while maintaining PR as our foundation.
In 2016, Katch made its Saudi debut by launching Saudi Arabia’s first-ever neon dance spectacle with iLuminate, igniting a new era for live entertainment in the Kingdom. Fast forward to 2024, and following major events like BLACKPINK and The Global Restaurant Investment Forum (GRIF), we finally opened our first PR office in Riyadh to deliver localised content with regional insight.
Now entering our 15th year in business, we handle public relations for 60 clients with projects spanning the Maldives, Seychelles, Qatar, Bahrain, and beyond. Working behind the scenes to ensure every campaign gets the hype it deserves is our amazing team of 51 PR experts. Even with our portfolio and scope constantly expanding, we still maintain the same mindset of a small agency, close-knit, hands-on, and all in for every brief. That’s what makes Katch, Katch
The Past 12 Months
While it simply isn’t possible to fit in every single thing Katch has achieved over the past 15 years, we’ll try our best to summarise the best bits from the past 12 months. Starting out strong with our hospitality clients, we continued our exciting partnership with Four Seasons, celebrating 10 years of Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach with stellar coverage of Jeff Leatham’s breathtaking floral takeover. We also helped generate serious media buzz around the launch of Chef Daniel Boulud’s new concept in Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh at Kingdom Centre.
Our partnership with Centara has also evolved into a multi-destination story, earning headline buzz for the Centara Grand Lagoon Maldives and Centara Mirage Lagoon Maldives launches. As for JA Resorts & Hotels, we’ve helped reimagine the brand as a culturally rooted lifestyle player through a full brand revamp. Additionally, we rolled out standout moments like a Nissan Middle East influencer activation in Hatta and a first-of-its-kind bespoke staycation summer campaign.
Adding even more colour to our portfolio, our work with our client FIVE Luxe JBR saw us put our storytelling and event strategy to the test, generating unprecedented hype for headliners like Black Coffee and CamelPhat at ICONS by Pacha and French Montana at Bohemia Beach Club. Over in Qatar, we spotlighted The Ned Doha’s sustainability initiatives with a LEED certification announcement, launched a health-focused menu in collaboration with SEED, and orchestrated a two-night media trip.
Working alongside some of the region’s biggest tastemakers, we managed PR for the MICHELIN Ceremony in Abu Dhabi and its legendary food festival, as well as driving media traction for the UAE Restaurant Group’s open day at Dubai Chambers. We also helped raise awareness for GRIF’s 10th anniversary event in Edinburgh and managed the official launch event for The Luminary Set. Katch also welcomed tasty additions to the mix, including INA by Fundamental Hospitality and the iconic trio of Revolver, Gatsby Dubai, and Maison Dali under Culinary Arts Group.
We have made further noise in the world of live entertainment, handling PR for some of the region’s biggest events, including Coldplay’s record-breaking four-show run in Abu Dhabi. In fact, our campaign made history, reaching an estimated 15.5 million views and an audience of almost 1 billion, making it the most talked-about event in the region. Katch also supported its fair share of iconic festivals, such as Wireless Festival Middle East, BRED Abu Dhabi by Hypebeast, five days of anime mayhem at Animenia, and the UAE’s largest wellness festival, the Kayan Wellness Festival.
Making moves in fresh markets, Katch also supported HyperFusion’s HP100 cloud GPU debut at the Dubai AI & Web3 Festival and teamed up with Bombardier at MEBAA to shine a light on its private jets. On the property scene, we made waves with PR for Eywa, R.Evolution’s ultra-luxury, sustainability-led development crowned Best World’s Property 2024, plus campaigns for ALTA Real Estate Development, Almal Real Estate Development, and Chestertons. We also celebrated VEO’s new branch opening in Arabian Ranches and welcomed Qualia Audio to the family, the masters of high-fidelity audio.
Phew… that was a mouthful.
Keeping Things Fresh
As much as birthdays are about reflection, they’re also about fresh starts, and we’ve had plenty this year. Here in Riyadh, our expanding team and string of exciting new Saudi clients saw us move to a spacious new office. Located on the 6th floor of the Samama Building on King Fahad Branch Road, Olaya Street, the new office gives us even more legroom to keep delivering standout campaigns and further position ourselves as a leading PR agency in Saudi Arabia.
Our Dubai office also got a new makeover. At the start of the year, we extended our existing space and revamped the interiors with fresh finishes, inspiring artwork, relaxed seating areas, and, of course, lots of pink.
The team also had some new additions, welcoming new members to our Arabic department and bringing Arabic translation fully in-house. We’ve also relaunched our in-house social media team. Both departments allow us to better capture the right tone, maintain consistency, and give clients a more personal channel for feedback.
While we’re always looking for new ways to keep things fresh and bring our clients’ vision to life, our core values remain the same. For us at Katch, we believe that true PR connects and inspires. Looking forward, we will continue to hold our family values close, rewrite the rules of PR, and do things the Katch way.

The past decade and a half have been a masterclass in creativity, innovation, and collaboration, and we’re only just getting started.
